Kirill Ovchinnikov is a Finalist of the "Show Your World" International Art Competition, the Honorable Mention by the Jury.
Professional fine art photographer from Russia, Kirill Ovchinnikov is fascinated with the social, psychological and metaphysical processes of the everyday life. Through his lense, he's been exploring hidden relationships of the cities and their inhabitants. Kirill is able to create an expressive artwork without departing from the true nature of documentary photography.
The idea to produce a series of a narrative sequence of panoramic photography pieces is the allusion on the black and white cinematography. Kirill explains: "The jagged and uneven form happened when I gave up the tripod for greater mobility. Later, it proved to be a true benefit, for it gave me more framing options: I was able to shoot a complete and balanced composition or a sequence of pictures flowing from one frame to another, as in a movie. Like a director, I plan the script, and, as a photographer, I wait for the right moment to happen."
The series "Moscow.Twilight" is an attempt to show the dissolution of an individual in a crowd. The architecture and the crowd become similar heavy weight compounds of a megalopolis. Human beings are blending with the architectural blocks and acquire the same weight and value. Hectic lifestyle and the exhausting intensity of social processes make the crowd as faceless as the look of the majority of big cities.
